ADAM BLOOM: SYDNEY COMEDY FESTIVAL 1999

On his tour poster, Adam Bloom is described as “Woody Allen on Speed”, and it is certainly the case. In his need to get as many thoughts and jokes out as possible, the speed at which he performs is almost unnerving. Jumping around topics such as religion and etiquette, his child-like approach to the topic is a refreshing change. On the occasion that material fails to amuse, with his boundless energy he moves on to the next topic with ease and little thought of the previous material.

A lot of what he said was seen on the Gala this previous year, but unlike a lot of other comedians, it was a joy to witness it again in the flesh, especially as this time it was uncensored.
